The Washington Monument was an obelisk located in Washington, D.C.
Story[]
"Pattinsonverse"[]
In 1945, the United States of America Government launches "Operation Seed," designating the Washington Monument as one of several Host Monuments intended to house Parasite Rockets.[1] Nearly 80 years later, in 2024, President Robert Pattinson activates Operation Seed, initiating the launch of rockets from the Monument along with numerous others around the Earth.[2]
"Deanverse"[]
In 1840, the United States discovers a Special Tree. By 1848, construction begins on a tower designed to encase the Tree, employing techniques similar to those used by the Egyptians in building the pyramids.[3][4] However, construction is interrupted from 1861 to 1865 due to the American Civil War, during which prisoners of war are brought into the unfinished tower to provide sustenance for the Tree. Following the conclusion of the war, construction resumes, and an elevator is installed inside the tower, connected to a hoisting cable to facilitate sacrificial offerings to the Tree.[5][6] By 1888, the tower's construction is completed.[5]
By 1910, the Washington Monument had emerged as a popular tourist attraction, with visitors encouraged to experience the mind-altering sound waves produced by the Tree within its walls, marketed by authorities as "music."[5]
Between 1910 and 1971, twenty individuals vanish during their visits to the Monument, lured into the structure to sacrifice themselves to the Tree.[5] Among them is Virginia Fate Arnoldson, who is pregnant with Everett Arnoldson. Despite their prolonged bleeding, the Tree keeps them alive.[6]
In 2000, the Monument is vandalized by the Advocates for the Division of America, who spray-painted threats of an impending "infection" and the end of the "Music of Washington."[5] Three years later, following the infection unleashed by the Air Force One Angel,[7] the Tree within the Monument breaks free, releasing a burst of lightning. This event teleports back the nineteen individuals who had gone missing,[5] except for Everett.[6]
"Cliftverse"[]
By 2023, the Monument lay in ruins, and the Tree that once resided within it has vanished. In its place, the Washington Wanderer now stands atop the Monument.[8]
